 Dancing Flame

Door middel van filmpjes onderzoek ik de vlammen. Wat voor vormen nemen ze aan, welke kleuren hebben ze, hoe gaan ze aan en uit, wat gebeurt er in de wind, welke vorm heeft de rook, hoeveel licht ontstaat er en welke kleuren zie je dan.Ik probeer dingen uit en ontdek wat wel en niet werkt. Begin weer overnieuw net zolang todat ik tevreden ben,

Tijdens Fjoertoer Egmond 2023 heb ik een animatie in de kerk en op de kerk geprojecteerd. Van te voren ben ik een paar keer naar de locatie gegaan om de afstanden te berekenen en een mooie plek uit te zoeken.

Omdat bij projectie kleuren heel anders kunnen uitvallen dan je op een scherm ziet, test ik de animatie op een nepmuurtje. Zo krijg ik een idee van het uiteindelijke resultaat.

Through videos, I study flames. What shapes do they take, what colors do they have, how do they ignite and extinguish, what happens in the wind, what shape does the smoke take, how much light is produced, and what colors do you see then? I experiment and discover what works and what doesn't. I start over again until I am satisfied.

During the Fjoertoer Egmond 2023 event, I projected an animation in the church and onto the church. Beforehand, I visited the location several times to calculate distances and choose a nice spot.

Because colors can appear very differently when projected, compared to what you see on a screen, I test the animation on a fake wall. This gives me an idea of the final result.
